Binance teams up with venture capital group to expand blockchain in Indonesia

In an affort to grow the global blockchain ecosystem, cryptocurrency exchange Binance forms a joint venture with a consortium led by MDI Ventures to expand blockchain in Indonesia, with the development of a new Indonesian-based crypto exchange. MDI Ventures is an $830M+ multi-stage venture capital arm of Telkom Indonesia (NYSE:TLK). "Indonesia could become one of the leading centers of the blockchain and crypto ecosystem in Southeast Asia," Binance Founder and CEO Changpeng Zhao said on Tuesday. Meanwhile, bitcoin (BTC-USD +3.3%) climbs higher following the Fed's decision to double the pace of tapering its asset purchases. It's changing hands just a thread away from the key $50K level. Earlier this week, Binance U.K. blocks crypto derivative traders to meet local regulatory standards.
