Charles Hoskinson Calls Canada A ‘Fascist Regime’

In a tweet made minutes before this article was written, Charles Hoskinson called Canada a fascist state. He made the remark while sharing a video of the Canadian deputy prime minister Chrystia Freeland where she was responding to the fate of the people who had donated crypto to fire the ongoing protests in the country. Responding to the question, Freeland said that the names of the individuals, as well as crypto wallets, had been shared by the RCMP with financial institutions and accounts were being frozen. She went on to say that more accounts would be frozen. She also said that crowdfunding platforms and payment service providers had started the registration process with FINTRAC, Canada’s financial intelligence unit. Charles Hoskinson Supports Crypto Amid the Emergency Act in Canada In a tweet made yesterday, Charles Hoskinson seemed to be promoting crypto as he took a dig at Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for invoking the Emergencies Act in the country to quell continued protests across the country over Covid-19 health measures. The Act allows the use of the military, but may not necessarily lead to that, and Trudeau said the government is not bringing them in. But it can temporarily suspend citizens’ rights to free movement or assembly. And the government is taking steps to stop the financial support of illegal protests.
